I have been researching some ancestors in New Boston and Goffstown, NH.

The first mystery is about Prince Johonnot, who supposedly was a member of the Johonnot family, who was originally from France that left due to religious persecution as they were Hugeunots. They came to Oxford, MA and then to Boston. Much is documented about the Johonnot family in Boston, but I find no mention of "Prince". He was born abt July 6, 1746 or possibly 1750. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War from Andover, MA and married Mehitable Emerson in 1773 in Metheun, MA. They settled in Goffstown and are mentioned in the town history. It has long been a belief in my family that someone was a Native American, and I believe that either Prince or his son, Peter married an Indian although I am having trouble proving it.

Peter Johonnot was born Dec 25, 1773 in Metheun, MA. He is not the same Peter Johonnot who was a loyalist, although that PJ may have been a relative, such as an uncle. (He would have been too young at the time of the Revolution anyway). Peter married Bathsheba Camp or Kemp who was born in Goffstown, March 25, 1770. Maybe she was the Native American? There were Kemps in Goffstown, but no Camps.

Peter and Bathsheba had a daughter named Mehitable, who married Daniel Douglass Dec 14, 1829 in Goffstown. I don't know who Daniel's parents were and can't seem to link him to the Samuel Douglass family of Brookline/Hollis. In the town history of Amherst, there was a William Douglass, but I have no evidence to link any of these Douglass together, other than the close proximity. The records seem to have dried up!

If anyone has any information on any of these families, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you
