My son-in-law's Mother was Mary Diamond whose ancestor was also William Diamond, the drummer from the Battle of Lexington. By the way, the drum is normally on display at the Hancock-Clarke house in Lexington but the house is under reconstruction as of yesterday. I took my grandson there to see it but could not. Mary's Father was William R. Diamond born in St. John's NB, Canada abt 1877 and died
here in MA in 1948. I don't know if there is any connection. I have found the Diamonds (William and John) in
the censuses to about 1870 but lost then for about 20 years
so cannot definitely prove the connection. I'm hoping some
one in the Diamond Family can help make this connection as to why they went to Canada.
