Hi! Joyce
John Jos. Durgin father is John and mother is Mary Barrigan according to Franklin VR. I just talked to Earl and he said John Jos. came from Three Rivers Canada. He wasn't sure of g parents, he said he had contact with the Rayno family more. These lines goes back to Francois Derrigan dit Lafrance. They changed the spelling to English because of discrimination which is a hoot because the moment they opened their mouth, you knew they were French. I grew up around my Gma, but they didn't teach their children or grandchildren French which I wish they hadn't done. I understand a little but I"ve always wished she had she taught me because they often spoke French in the house, maybe they didn't want the kids to know what was being said. I hope this helps. Lynne
