I was at the NH Vital Records recently and looked for a death record for Charles Samways. I checked all the deaths 1901-1947 and found no one with that surname dying in NH during that time period. I also checked for the marriage in 1906 and didn't find it, although I did find one other marriage: for a Henry E. Samways Jr. (age 21, born Brewer, Maine, son of Henry E. Samways & Delia Flaherty, both parents born Ireland) who md. 19 Mar 1928 in Portsmouth to Beatrice G. Hartley (age 21, b. Bangor, Maine, dau of James Hartley & Grace Danfort).
I'm not sure why I didn't find the one for Charles Samways to Ada Gertrude Arthur, I even checked the brides index in case they spelled Samways some odd way. It is helpful to know that Portsmouth was a popular place for people from Maine to marry, so perhaps they did not die in NH, at least prior to 1947.
