Classification: Query
1850 census lists Christopher Clement age 60 shoemaker born NH, with Anna age 48 b. VT and son George W. age 14 b. NH, residing in Plaistow, Rockingham Co. NH.
1860 George and mother Ann are residing in Willoughby, Lake Co.,OHIO - (no Christopheer)
On the 1865 Draft Reg. sheet for the town of Willoughby, George was listed as George W. Crenent and stated he had served 1 yr. as a substitute, enlisting Aug. 1864.
I am trying to locate the regiment that George served in. Possibly he served for Wisconsin, enlisting 26 Aug. 1864 to Aug. 1865 (?) - I just can't seem to locate anthing to prove or disprove what I have found. Anyone researching this family and has definite proof as to his service? I am coordinator for the Lake Co. History Center and we are researching all men of Lake Co.OH who served in the Civil War, and I would like to add George to our list of over 1190 names.
Thanks for ANY assistance.
