I am seeking info (especially obits) on my great grandparents.
Here's what I know: Charles August Wendt was born in Coswig, Anhalt, Desjaw Germany on Aug 13 1856. He died on Jan 13, 1933, probably in NJ. He was appointed postmaster of Alpine, NJ in Aug. 1921.

He married German-born, Dora Kirchoff in NYC on July 3, 1875. She died in 1888.
He married Theresa Baar (sp?) in the 1900s, probably in NJ. I believe she died in the 1950s, probably in Alpine. They lived in Hudson Co. NJ where he conducted a cabinetmaking business before moving to Alpine.
Theresa operated a grocery store in this small community which probably also housed the post office.
