Robert[1] EYRE b:30 Jan 1647 Devizes, Wiltshire, England came to the US thru New Jersey where he first settled. He married Ann SMITH, dtr of Francis SMITH who founded Kennett Square, PA. Robert and Ann EYRE settled permanently in Bethel Twp, Delaware County, PA. However, branches of this family are said to have settled in Burlington, NJ and Bucks County, PA. Robert and Ann's son, William b: 1698 inherited the Bethel Twp holdings. We suspect that Robert[2] EYRE and/or Francis EYRE settled in Burlington, NJ and/or Bucks County, PA. Would like to verify EYRE family in Burlington, NJ. Also spelled: EYRES, EYER, EYERS, AYRE, AYER, AYAR. Pronounced "air".
