I am trying to determine if Archibald HEWITT and his wife Catherine were the parents of my ggg-grandmother, Mary Ann HEWITT Bozarth. Mary Ann HEWITT was born 1828 and married Daniel Ivins Bozarth of Gloucester County in 1842 when Mary Ann was probably only 14.

There was a posting on the Hewitt message board several years ago where they mentioned that Archibald Hewitt b.1797 married Catherine Calhern Andrews in 1826, probably in Cape May County. I have not verified this information yet, nor do I know why the person thought their marriage might have taken place in Cape May County. What I do know at this point is that Archibald and Catherine Hewitt can be found living in Franklin Township, Gloucester County in the 1840 and 1850 census. I don't know where they were living in 1830. The young couple, Daniel and Mary Ann (Hewitt) Bozarth, were living several households away from Archibald and Catherine in 1850. Also, Daniel and Mary Ann named their eldest daughter 'Catherine'.

Can anyone shed light on these Hewitt's? Could Archibald be related to the many Cape May Hewitt's?

Coincidentally, Daniel and Mary Ann Bozarth ended up their years in Dennis Township, Daniel dying in 1901 and Mary Ann in 1904. They are buried in Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Oceanview.
