The image quality of the 1895 census for Hudson County, on ACOM, ranges from really poor to totally awful and mostly unreadable throughout.
I recently borrowed 1 microfilm reel, covering Bayonne, Guttenberg and Harrison. I am happy to report that the quality is OUTSTANDING - clear and easy to read.
I will have the film until early March. My research time will be rather limited until late January, but at that time I will be happy to do lookups for anyone searching for family in those 3 townships.
I have found - as I suspected - that the pages are not in order on the microfilm. I had found part of my family at the bottom of page 282 in Harrison, but the remaining children were not on the following page. On the microfilm, 282 is paired with 285, while 283 is paired with 280!
Good clean copy of the column headings attached.
