I recently found an old envelope that was sent to South Amboy, New Jersey from Bramminge, Denmark in 1930. You can see the envelope on www.philgen.org (search on Amboy, click on View, and scroll to the bottom of the page) or click on the link below. I do not find the recipient in the 1930 census nor the address using Google maps and wondered if someone more familiar with South Amboy could help with the name and/or street address. I believe that Bramminge, Denmark may be the birthplace of the recipient and this envelope will be helpful to someone in their genealogical research. The reason I have a photo of the envelope is because of my interest in using old envelopes and postcards in genealogical research. I have an article in the spring 2009 issue of New England Ancestors entitled Philatelic Genealogy and have started the philgen website. I do not know if the letter that was in the envelope still exists.
