Actually I just spent a couple days at the archives last month. I know now that Joseph James is the son of Richard James of Upper Freehold, NJ. Still not sure when Joseph was born exactly, but now I'm piecing together his family. He had quite a few siblings, one close one appears to be a John James married to a Mary, but don't know much more about him at the moment.
