Classification: Query
Surnames: Poole, Conover, Smith, Patterson, McManus, Massy, Miller, Riley, Burns, Anderson
My research interest is a 4-year-old boy named Chas Poole who is living in the household of Peter S. Conover in the 1850 Fed Census for Atlantic, Monmouth, New Jersey.

There is no one else named Poole in the household but there are people of various other names, which I list here (all white, all born NJ, all males laborers, unless otherwise marked):

Peter S. Conover, 39
Rebecca M. Conover, 40
John W. Conover, 11
Lydia Conover, 10
Elizabeth Smith, 19
Michael Patterson, 25
Thos. McManus, 25 (Ireland)
Geo. Massy, 21
Robt. J. Miller, 12
Sarah Riley, 21 (Black)
Cath. A. Burns, 13 (Mulato)
Chas Poole, 4

In 1860, the houseold of Peter S. Conover, now in Holmdel, Monmouth, New Jersey, consists of: (all white)

Peter S. Conover, 49, Farmer, $26,500, $6440
John W. Conover, 25, Farmer
Lydia M. Conover, 19
Mary S. Conover, 25
William J. Conover, 3
Robt. Miller, 20, Farm Laborer
Charles Pool, 15, Farm Laborer
Susan Anderson, 21, Domestic

By 1870, Charles Poole is married and head of his own household in Atlantic, Monmouth, New Jersey.

My question...Does anyong researching either of these families know what the connection is between them?

Thanks for any help at all.
