The information at Ancestry is a short paragraph on the Bedle family genealogy from Salter's History of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, N.J. James Madison Bedle who was murdered in Calvert Co., Md, in 1873. Young Bedle had a roving disposition and left home in 1858 and for some reason had assumed the name of Eugene Archie Burdell.
I can find no record of any early transcripts of Evergreen Cemetery. A list of Monmouth County cemeteries was compiled in the mid fifties and does not show any transcripts at that time. There is an index to cemeteries that have appeared in the NJGS Magazine, Evergreen is not listed. James M Bedle's tomestone is broken, the upper part now standing in front of the bottom. In Memory of James M Bedle is all that is readable
