Stephen Leonard (1753-1831) had a wife named Sibyl Hurd who died in Lee, Berkshire Co., Mass. in 1787. Her tombstone states she was 24, making her birth year about 1763. I believe she may be the daughter of Josiah Hurd and Hannah Brown who resided in Hurdtown, NJ (http://archive.org/stream/historygenealogy00hurd#page/n131/m...).

Stephen Leonard was born in Morris County, New Jersey in 1753. I think Stephen may have met and married Sibyl Hurd in New Jersey. Stephen then moved to Berkshire County, Massachusetts. He and Sibyl had three children that I can account for, Hannah (my ancestor), Stephen, and David Hurd Leonard. I cannot find a marriage record in Massachusetts or NJ, but I did find Lee burial transcriptions for Sibyl and son Stephen, both of whom died in 1787. Stephen then remarried in 1788 to Lois Wilcox and the family moved to Onondaga County, New York (note that all the online genealogies only show he had one wife, Lois Wilcox, but I believe this is wholly incorrect).
