Unfortunately, I do not have a paid subscription to Ancestry to locate an US census. I want to say that most US libraries do have a free access to Heritage or Ancestry.

I can find a michael born in 1909 to hungarian parents bu the names of John and Anna...is this him? is census data useful?

This is the Hungary up to 1918

Michael's church baptismal record will have names of parents and their place of birth. If you know it, share it so we could help you further your research.
