Feb 16, 1739
On application of James Mason of the Twp of Mannington, County of Salem,NJ, Yeoman, to the Subscribers, Six of the Surveyors of the Highways for the County of Gloucester & (and inserting from margin), also 7 of the Surveyors for the County of Salem ); for the removing of a four rod road being the Kings Road in the said Twp of Mannington, which runs by the said James Mason's house, we have thought fit on due consideration of the same to remove the said road by Virtue of the Act of Assembly and the power give to us thereby, and do lay out a four rod Road which is to be a Kings Road as follows:
Beginning at the great road at the West side of William Murdoch's corner, and so down the line between Bartho: Wyatt's and the Widow Smiths to the marsh, thence crossing the marsh over the creek across the Widow Woodnut's Marsh to the West side of a small Branch near to the Widow Woodnut's plantation,
Thence turning to the West, intersecting with James Wards Line, thence up the said line to a road laid out from Obediah Loyds place to John Hughs' Landing, the said James Mason consenting to make twenty rod of Causeway through the marsh, Barholomew Wyatt, ten, and Richard Vickry, four, at their own proper costs and charges.
In Witness where of we have hereunto set out hands the 15th day of February 1739:
