Hi, came across Guardianship papers today that named Ezekiel Peterson of Salem County as guardian of these children of William Peterson, dec'd, their mother having remarried Williams Hays.

1799 Apr 4 Peterson, Joseph of Salem County, ward. Son of William Peterson, dec'd. Being out of Wardship in Guardian in Soccage, (over 14 years of age now vnc) choice of Ezekiel Peterson as Guardian.

1799 Apr 13. Peterson, William, Elizabeth, Isabell and Sarah, Salem County Wards, children of William Peterson, dec'd. Infants under 14. On petition of William Hays and Sarah his wife, and mother of said infants. Guardian Ezekiel Peterson. Fellow-bondsmen Richard Slape, both of sd. county. Lib 38:416 2419Q


Obviously their father died prior to these applications. So I'm trying to find a William Peterson with wife Sara who d. 1799 or earlier, as I'd like to understand the connection to Ezekiel and Lemuel Peterson, who are both my line.

His death may or may not have occurred in Salem county, so PA or DE are other places I'm looking, either for probate or even a marriage.
