Hi!~~ I've just found my "HULSIZER" ancestor in my COLEMAN line. Catharine HULSIZER or HULSHIZER was probably born about 1785. I have absolutely no information on her other than the fact that she married Cornelius COLEMAN, possibly the son of Benjamin COLEMAN Jr. (not proven!).

We think Cornelius COLEMAN was born about 1785, possibly in New Jersey; he married Catharine HULSHIZER about 1808, and died after 1829 in Northumberland County, PA (in an area which is today Columbia County).

Their chidlren's names are (tentatively!): Mary "Polly," Margaret "Peggy" [my ancestor who married Elijah HESS in PA]; Sarah; Benjamin; Hannah; Elizabeth; and possibly -- William; Adaline & Helen, twins; Silas; & Charlotte COLEMAN.

I have some information on a Martin and Dorothy HULSHIZER; he was a brick mason who supposedly came from Germany in the middle of the 18th century to Phillipsburgh, NJ, then to NW New Jersey. I often wondered whether this family may tie in to my Catharine HULSHIZER as many of my surnames keep popping up: I show as Martin's children -- Christopher; Jacob; Valentine; Juliana, b. 12 Jul 1745, who married a Jacob LUNGER; John Martin who mar. Mary Margaret MELLICK; a "dau. who mar. and went south;" and "a daughter who married a Mr. ROBBINS and settled in PA."

There are also a number of us searching for ROBBINS lines who supposedly came from New Jersey, although I don't know whether they were from the Sussex Co. area. The ROBBINS lines here in Columbia Co., PA (Northumberland Co. before 1813) are very confusing as there seems to have been more than one family who relocated here, and the first names are repeated throughout all the families.

My information on this family is equally skimpy. Robert RICHERT/RICHART married Elizabeth ROBBINS. We estimate they were born before 1773, but can't say how much earlier. I don't know where they died or are buried.

Their daughter, Jerusha/Jerusa/Jerescha RICHART, b. abt. 1792, d. 1872 aged 80, married William JOHNSON, b. 1788 in New Jersey (don't know county), d. 24 Jan 1877 aged 88.11.17, s/o John Jacob JOHNSON and Mary BARNHART. Jerusa & William JOHNSON are buried in Columbia Co., PA. Their granddaughter married into my PARKER/LUNDY line who came from Sussex Co., NJ, so I wonder whether many of them had migrated here together.

If any of these names "click," I'd love to hear from you. I don't get on the 'Net very often so my e-mail would be faster. Thanks for any hints you might be able to supply!
