Specifically I'm looking for McChesney burials: John McChesney married Mary M. Edwards. Does anyone know if I can find this on the web?

NJ is tough. If you ever have a chance to go to State Archives in Trenton and page through Union Co marriage register, do it--you might find the people you are looking for, names horribly mispelled (I have!). Those entries will give the name of the person (clergyman) who married the couple, so then at least you could try to match the clergyman to a church, and track down that church's records. Seems like a lot of the German records from that time period only exist in the various church records (which may also be tough to find). Good luck!

Definitely NOT buried with his wife, my great-aunt May Louise Lutz, married on Jun 4 1956 (married in Princess Anne Co, VA) (May was married before so she probably couldn't be buried in a Catholic cemetery w/him?).
They did not have any children.
Sorry, that's all I can tell you.
Did you check WWI draft cards or "Old Man" draft in 1942? He should be in there for sure.

Where did you look for birth certificate? Could be an entry in city's birth registry for year but no actual certificate (look at NJ State Archives in Trenton). Also at Archives there is a mircofilm covering "delayed" births--mostly people who needed to prove info re their birth, years and years later (such as when they were applying for SS). You could try that. Good luck.

Gustave married Emma McDade abt. 1919 and had 2 children, William (my father) and Hazel. Emma died abt. 1951; he married Catherine (?) abt. 1952.
I tried to get Gustave's birth certificate but they couldn't find it. It's possible his mother and father were not married, but I think they were both born in Germany or Austria.
Barbara,

I sent you a private message, but I also wanted to post here in case it helps anyone else. From your mention of the NJ memorial, I was able to locate their page on him along with his picture. Also, his bio mentioned his siblings and that was enough for me to trace his ancestry back three generations to his great-grandparents Henry Koonce & Elizabeth Ellis of Jackson County, Florida. I wrote a blog post about it at
http://tinyurl.com/lfgv57.

I am not related, but I have enjoyed finding his family.
My great aunt (a life long Elizabeth resident) was married to a James J. Coakley. They did not have any children. I don't know much about him, other than his DOB (1906), DOD (1958), and their marriage date (1956). May have a few other factoids. I also know where he is buried. Is this one of your Coakleys? Let me know.

Greetings! I had an Aunt named Muriel Brickell (her maiden name). She lived in New Jersey and died somewhere around 1990-91; so this doesn't look to be the match you were searching for...Still, since Brickell is not all that common a name, I thought I'd pass along this info. Who knows? There may be a distant connection somewhere...? Would you have any other Brickell family info? We've been located mostly in the North east-NJ, NY, MA, RI, VT & maybe NH. We're of Irish/English ancestry, emmigrating to the states in the early 1800's or earlier. (Thought I'd ask while I'm writing). Anyway-good luck in your quest. Hope you're able to find lots of family going a long way back! Yours-Denise Brickell Vaughan

Taneya,

I read your blog and I think it's wonderful what you and your family are doing. It is sad to see how unkept some old cemeteries are. There is such history there, how can people just not care about their ancesters!

Anyway, I see you have a picture of Jeffrey's name on the Vietnam Wall, but did you know it's also listed on the Vietnam Memorial in Holmdel, NJ with a picture of him and a short bio. I visit that memorial about once a month, so if you'd like I can take a picture of his name on that Wall for you. It's set up a little different. It's a circular wall with 365 blocks, one for every day of the year. The soldiers names are engraved on the day they were KIA. It's a beautiful memorial and there's also an education center there.

If you Google 'Vietnam Memorial Holmdel' you will find the home page.

Barbara

Olivet but they told me they have no date of death just a year. There is also a Martha Healey buried with him. She was buried first July of 1926 at the age of 25. We topught the name was Healy but the cemetery said it is Healey. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!
Thank you so very much!!
Renee
