Imla Drake was born 24 Dec 1815 in NJ. I haven't been able to determine his parentage yet. On 6 Jan 1842 he married Elizabeth Hummer in Hunterdon Co., NJ. Their first child, John H. Drake was born 23 Mar 1844 in Hackettstown. Through the process of elimination, It seems that he might be the son of David and Mary (or Sarah) HENRY DRAKE.

David died in Asbury, NJ in 1826, according to a researcher who had access to Rankin's files in the Alexander library at Rutgers. David was 37 years old when he died. The researcher provided me with the names of three other children for David besides an Imla: William H., Samuel and Elizabeth Ann. These are the only clues I've ever come across for this family. Unfortunately, I have lost contact with the researcher.
