Ray Horsfall was buried in the VA Cemetery in Whipple, Arizona (according to military headstone application) or, on findagrave, at Prescott National Cemetery:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=HO...;

....so they appear to have been out there by 1955.

Gaddy died in May 1939.

I would like to find more information on this person.
I don't think there would be an obituary for Gaddy, but maybe a newspaper article or if you have access to death records that would be even better.

Note: If this is the Gaddy I'm looking for, I have already added this person to findagrave.

I am looking for a divorce/annulment records for Lucinda Weaver-Porter and Carlos/Charles Porter. They were married 23 Dec 1849 in Santa Fe.
I found both living in 1860 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico Territory. Charles Porter lived on the military post; Lucinda Porter lived with several other individuals; her sister Bonifacia Weaver, then a Mr. Wheeler and a Mr. Page.
The 1870 US census shows Lucinda Weaver-Porter living in Texas being married to Louis Esparza. She was married before to Amado Villanueva.

Lucinda Weaver-Porter-Villanueva-Esparza stayed married to Louis Esparza.

As I said, I am looking for any type of information on the marriage to Carlos/Charles Porter to Lucinda Weaver (Paulino Weaver’s daughter).

Thanks in advance.
Christina Chavez

That's what I've been trying to do without success. Her daughter Nancy is the person I've been trying to locate.
I know Florence was in Dubuque in 1960 by city directories. They end there. I wonder what would get a woman over 60 to move across the country away from her birth place? My only answer that made sense is Nancy came and took her to NM to be near her. I've given up on it since I have no married name to go by and since there were no Grand children listed on Ray's death, There is no evidence before that of Nancy marring. With no record of an obit it would seem there was no one left to provide any information for memorial tribute to a 103 year old woman.

Thank you so much for your time and interest. You've backed up my decidion to drop the search. There's just no proof that Nancy Ann Horsfall evem married or worked any where. She'd need the Horsfall name to even marry.

You may have the below, the only "problem" is your concern over the "last residence," which could be her daughters versus hers. Her husband Ray died in 1955...per records. So, she "could" have remarried and the SSDI records reflected her previous married name. OR, she could have died in Albuquerque...but that does not mean that she was living there. So many possibilities due to problems in our record systems:

The Social Security Death Index:
Florence I. Horsfall, born 13 oct 1899, died 2 July 2003, "last residence" Albuquerque, NM.
--The "last residence" on the SSDI is NOT necessarily where a person actually
lived or died. The Social Security Administration calls it simply the "home
of record." It is not necessarily where any benefit was paid to the person,
survivor, or the lumpsum death benefit (in 1972 was paid to anyone paying
burial expenses, family member, funeral home, city/county, attorney). It is
sometimes the location where the notification of death was sent to the SSA,
sometimes where the lump sum death benefit was sent.

The Bernalillo County recorder had no documents in her name, indicating she did not own property, record any documents, power-of-attorney, estates, etc. There is a recorded marriage of a Sarah Beth Horsfall to a Carl Finely in 2007.

Posted family trees identify her as born as Florence Noonan. She married Raymond Horsfall on 8 May 1918 and lived in Dubuque Co, IA to at least 1960. Ray died in 1955. She had a daughter "private" and a son Robert Ray Horsfall, died 19 Nov 1944 in the Netherlands. (Betting a Battle of the Bulge war casualty...I've been doing a number of these and those in the Netherlands "adopting" cemetery stones and the hero's).

I did a number of other searches, without success.

Your answer might be in finding her daughter.
Taylor
Born: 1909
Died: 1981
Buried: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Albuquerque, Mausoleum.

New Mexico death records are very restricted (for details go to usgwarchives.org/nm/nmdir.htm), therefore, I couldn't look for her in the New Mexico Death Index.

If you want to pursue an obituary, you can contact the Rio Grande Valley Library System at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/volnm.html
Successful Searching!

I think she originated back east somewhere--possibly New York--she was never married, and had a brother.
I checked online records for the County Clerk of Bernalillo County. They have one document, a Power of Attorney for James given to an Aguilar Nicanor, recorded 1/4/1990.

Because of his age and potential of no living family members in the area, there might not be an obituary published. I'd contact the cemetery to see what records they have. If they have the funeral company officiating, THEY may have the records you need.

Horace Simeon Coker, 10 Aug 1893 to 5 Nov 1951, married Lois Vivian Daugherty. Lois died 10 July 1990.
Daughter Helen Almer Coker, born 2 Aug 1924, died 17 Sep 1990 in Lubbock, TX

The Social Security Death Index does show "last residence" in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County.
---The "last residence" on the SSDI is NOT necessarily where a person actually lived or died. The Social Security Administration calls it simply the "home of record," and possibly the address where correspondence by the SSA was sent. It is not necessarily where any benefit was paid to the person, survivor, or the lumpsum death benefit (in years past, it was paid to anyone paying burial expenses, family member, funeral home, city/county, attorney; today, a living spouse). It is sometimes the location where the notification of death was sent to the SSA, sometimes where the lump sum death benefit was sent.

Also she may have died there, but wasn't living there, or living there long enough to have an obituary published. Her daughter died in Texas, so it "appears" Lois wasn't living with her daughter.

I checked online records for the County Clerk of Bernalillo County, and found no death related records. I checked for any Country Superior Court records (Probate, etc), but couldn't find. Suggest contacting the County Clerk. Or asking at the cemetery where she is buried. If they have the funeral home officiating, they might have records as to location of death, and transfer information, and possible obit.

I will check through my records and see if I have any new information from the time I posted my request.
Tell me the exact lineage that makes Bernice your great-great-aunt? Is it through Bernice's marriage into the Sigafoos family or are you related through the Cummings side of the family?
Hi there!
This is quite a bit after your post but I was wondering if you had ever found out anything more about the Sigafoos' that you wanted to share? Bernice Sigafoos was my great great aunt and though my contact with her was limited to information passed by my grandparents, aunts and uncles, she seemed to have led a very interesting life.

I have written a letter but so far had put off posting it in the hope of confirming the postal address first.

I am unaware of how to look up an address in your country or state from Australia.

I would love it if you could confirm the address for me.

Best wishes

Dawn
Australia

I am trying to determine who the husband of Lois D. Triplett was. Lois was born 6 May 1901 and died 15 July 1990. Her last residence was listed as Albuquerque, Bernalillo, County, NM. She had previously been married to Sim Coker who died in 1951.
I am trying to identify which Triplett Lois was married to after Sim's death. I would appreciate any information about these persons.
Thank you.
Norman Price

Hi, Thank you for your suggestion. I have already found this info. I have found few items on this relative; such as date and place of arrival to America. I also have had difficulty finding exact place of birth and upbringing. Only info is Germany as his homeland. Not enough info to continue searches. Of course, I would appreciate any help I can get. Should you find any, pls keep in touch. Thank you,

Hello,

Simon Rosenstein ran a store in the Albuquerque plaza. See the NM Historical Review, Vol. 18, p. 28 and Henry Tobias' book Jews of New Mexico. Also, you can google the speech of the Honorable Richard Weightman and search inside for Rosenstein for an account of his imprisonment in Albuquerque by the Americans in 1849.

HTH
Naomi

I was looking for new information about my great-great grandfather Melchoir Werner and found your post. Tomas Werner was my grandmother's father. Her name was Teresita or Teresa Werner-Smith. My dad is Nick Smith, and he was very close to his Uncles Dave and Tony Werner. It's interesting to note that Tomas was adopted and his father was French. Anyway, it's been years since you made your inquery. I hope you and your family are well. If you would like to contact me, my email is domalley@cabq.gov. I currently serve on the Albuquerque City Council.

This is my first post on an American board and in fact today is the first time I have confirmed a relative had lived in USA.

I have found an old post at http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/users/h/i/c/Betty-J-Hicke... but unfortunately the lady's email address is no longer current. I would like to contact her as I believe we are related. Her name is Betty Joyce Hickel and at the time of the post was living in Albuquerque.

I had no luck finding an email address and as she would be in her seventies I thought I could write to her.

I am hoping you could steer me in the right direction to find a current address as there appears to be lots of sites out there offering to give me anything and everything about her and I am concerned the information may be either old or simply incorrect. Is there a more official site to check?

Hoping for some local knowledge.

Dawn
Australia
