I also have a great-grandfather buried in the Valdez cemetary near Rayado. The Arthur Johnson Memorial Library in Raton has information about it in their reference section. I am told it has not been upkept, and may not be identifiable anymore. As this message is 5 years old, you may not need the info anymore, but just in case, I am Rita at mrsoledad@yahoo.com
