My great grandfather James E. Sligh lived in White Oaks and had a weekly newspaper called the Nogal Nugget in the 1880's. He also had a newspaper called the Golden Era and then later the New Mexico Interpreter. I am trying to reach anyone in these areas who have heard of these papers and if any are on film. He left New Mexico in 1890 when his wife Mary L. Sligh died. My father also said he wrote something about the Lincoln County Wars and was involved in helping Pat Garrett. He was an Civil War Soldier.
