Funeral sercices for Nellie Perry Chavez, 74, will be Friday Ja. 8, 1999 at the Crownpoint Christian Reform Church. Nellie died Jan. 4, 1999 in Gallup. She was born May 15, 1924 in Antelope Lookout into the Tangle People Clan. Chavez was employed by the late Clay Fultz as a housekeeper for 28 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeannie Toppah of Weatherford, OK.,Melda Chavez of Gallup, and Marion Chavez of Crowpoint; sons, Tommy P. Etsitty of Aneth, Melford Bennie Chavez of Chandler, and Burton Chavez of Standing Rock; sisters, Lillian Manuelito of Crownpoint, Lolita Perry of Becenti, and Bernice P. Toledo of Antelope Lookout; brother, Bennie Perry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Chavez; daughter, Geneva Parker, sons Jimmy Perry and Melvin B. Chavez; parents Robert and Mary Nez Perry. Rollie Mortuary of Gallup has charge of arrangments.
