George and Estefana (Montoya) Gold were my Great-Great-Great Grandparents, they were married in Taos,N.M. in 1850. George was from scotland, but of jewish descent. He was a well known mountain man in the area. During the 1847 Taos Uprising, George fought along side of Captain Ceran St. Vrain and was severly wounded. He was a private at the time he was wounded and went on to become a Major General for the Southern Division of the Militia, of the Territory. During 1850, George was elected as a Senator in Taos,N.M.
He was also one of the founders of the Bent Masonic Temple in Taos,N.M..
If you have any addition information and/or where to find pictures, please email, it would be truly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Jim Ramirez
