Surnames: Maxson, Burdick, Crandall
I have read the letters, so interesting. Of course, Jared Maxson (son of Benjamin & Penelope) was the brother of Huldah Maxson (wife of Joel Crandall). After the death of Jared's wife Harriett E. Burdick, Jared went to NYC & his children lived with relatives. My gg-Grandpa Norman L. Maxon lived with Joel & Huldah Crandall. I have a newspaper article (given to me by the Historian at the Seventh Day Baptist Church Headquarters in Janesville, WI) that reports of the marriage of Lucelia Maxson (daughter of Jared) that took place in the home of Joel Crandall. I had never known the death date of Jared, but read of it in Joel Crandall's letter (Jared Maxson is dead" & the date of his death.) I have always wondered what he did in NYC, where he lived & etc. My gg-Grandpa Norman is buried in Webster City, IA/ that is where the family syated, married & is buried. I always thought there was a lack of information because of the split in the family following Harriett's death. I have heard that their youngest child Cassius was adopted by Avery & Polly Coon. After leaving NY, Norman moved to Footville, WI in Rock Co. Milton College (Seventh Day Baptist College) is in the area. There he married Emma Eliza Richards (Enos was her father). Any information you have would be helpful. On the website for the Enchanted Mountain Society there are cemtery listings. Benjamin, Penelope (1st wife) & Susan Potter (2nd wife) Jared & Harriett are all listed at the Wells Cemetery. I was happy to find that information. Do you know anything of the Rev. War Service of Benjamin's father, Benjamin? Working on that for a supplementary line for DAR. Thank you!!
