I think your Aaron MacCoon was a son of Willis & Frances Grace (Green) MacCoon or Coon. On all the census records I could find the name is spelled Coon. Aaron`s WW1 draft card does give his name as MacCoon. It gives his birthdate as Feb. 25, 1894 in Alfred, NY. His occupation is instuctor, of what I can`t make out. He is single. At the time he filled out the card (1918) he was living in Westchester Co., NY. In 1920 he was living with his parents, Willis & Grace, in Alfred & was a high school teacher. The name is spelled Coon. The 1900 census for Alfred gives Aaron Coon birth as Feb. 1894, age 6. Parents are Willis, 35, & Grace, 33, Coon. There is also a daughter Grace, 13. Willis` occ. is dentist. They are living at 89 North Main St. in Alfred.

Aaron Coon is listed in the book " Elder John Crandall of RI. and descendants" by John Cortland Crandall. He & his parents are on pg. 477. This book has been transcribed online. I believe there is a mis-type for the parents of Willis Coon. They are given as "Aaron W. and Tacy (Shaw) Green". Green should be Coon, I`m sure. The 1880 census for Alfred had the Coon family.
