Pat,
You are too good at this! I have searched for almost two months for these records. Incredibly, I find the connection between my Loring Parrish and those you mention when I call my aunt Elizabeth by her nickname, "Lizzie." Then the connections develop. I'm so new at this, that I didn't realize how many twists the name Loring could have including "Lorina" and "Loren."

Thank you for your help.
Kathryn

The 1870 census for Mooers, Clinton Co. shows the family of "Latter" Parish (I think the given name is actually Luther)who has among his children a Loren, age 6, b. NY. In 1860 this family is in Schuyler Falls, Clinton Co. & the head is named Luther Parish. Also living with the family then is a Heman Parish, age 34. In 1880 in Shoreham, Addison Co., VT. there is a Loring G. Parrish, age 17, b. NY living with his mother Elizabeth, 49 & his siblings. Also with them is a Himan Parrish, age 55, listed as brother-in-law to Elizabeth. I believe this is the same family as the one on the 1860 & 1870 census in Clinton Co., NY. Elizabeth is shown as Sarah on the 1860 &`70 records but that may be her middle name.

Pat R.

HI Marjorie
How much do you know about the Clark Family ancestry? I have wondered for Eons if Norman Clark who married my grgrgrandfathers older sister, Amanda Lafferty, was Solomon Sr's brother. Any ideas? Every census report I have says Norman was born in Canada. He would have been the older brother, as near as I can tell. He was born around 1810. He was in Yorkshire area until around 1846 and then began to head west. A Marsh bio says he died in 1873, but he disappears from the census after 1860. If the "73" was a typo and it was "63" he would have died in Girard, Erie county PA. The family continued on, through Ashtabula county OH and finally landed in Cleveland, where Amanda died in 1888. He also had a son named Solomon, which makes me wonder if they are related. Also: while looking through my file tonight, I realized that Norman's middle initial shown on one census is "S" IF you'd like to kick ideas back and forth, please email me at cbarber@brockwaytv.com.
Thanks!
Carol

I would be interested in information regarding Patrick Priest. My gg-Aunts were Julia & Mary Priest who had a dressmaking shop in Olean on Union St. in the early 1900s. They had a brother, Patrick Priest, who was a member of the Board of Education in the same time period. Mary Priest took in my grandfather, Eustace Paul Nolan, in Olean when his parents died in the 19teens. Eustace Paul married Beatrice Gertrude Bubbs in Olean. My father, William Arleigh Nolan, was born in Olean in 1924.

I agree with you it is a mystery. I am even more perplexed because in the 1860 census I believe, It shows Alexander and Celestia with their daughters Jane, Ellen, Ann... and then another Ellen two years older than the first Ellen. Which I had thought maybe she was a widow of an older son. But I can find absolutely no evidence of such a thing and by 1880, she as well as the other girls are gone.
Do you by any chance have a copy of Alexander's obituary?
I am researching the line going down through Sarah Maria(h) who married Hugh Morton. Thanks for such a quick response.

Kathie

Hi Brenna,

Thanks for the information about James. Do you know what his middle name is? Also, would you mind sending me all the information you have about James' descendants? I'm working on a theory that my gr-gr-gr-grandfather, Henry Fuller, is related to James, quite possibly a descendant.

As for the DNA test, unfortunately you don't have a paternal descendancy from James, so the DNA test would not be of any use. The y-chromosome DNA test is used to prove ancestry, but only males have a y-chromosome. This y-chromosome DNA is passed virtually unchanged from father to son -- but only from father to son. Therefore, you can only test for ancestry along a paternal line.

Walter

I just took a moment to pull out the geneology and I do have a Margaret Gribbin (daughter of John Gribbin who was my great-great grandfather - Margaret's sister Mary Ann Gribbin married John Woods who are my great grandparents) Margaret married a Patrick Laughlin and I have only one son so far listed - John - no Albert. So, are we related?

I also have Bentley's in my family tree - on my Kelly side - is that on your tree also?

I was very surprised to see that entry as in Alexanders obituary, it said that he had no living sons. He did have one son Alexander who died when he was 10 days old. So I think this Alexander must be from an unwed daughter or adopted??? I followed this Alexander(grandson). He married a Julia. They had a child Margie in 1894 who married a William Miller. But by 1930 I had lost them. It's a mystery.

Sorry I can't help more.
Alexander is one of my brick walls. I get him back to Scotland, but no further.

Sandy

Rosetta's daughter, Lillian born on or around 1888 had a son, Clayton I Booth (aka John C Booth) b. Aug 14, 1912 in Olean NY, d. April 27, 1977 in Ann Arbor, MI. Clayton is my father. I have his birth certificate. It appears from the penmenship and the type of pen that was used, his name was added in 1923. Clayton Irving Booth is listed as the father and I have no trace for additional lineage. Do you have anything?

Looking for info on Joseph Patrick Brown and parents Patrick Brown and Delia Driscoll

I am looking for more information about a JOSEPH PATRICK BROWN born March 17, 1885 in Olean, NY and his parents PATRICK BROWN and DELIA DRISCOLL. Joseph married PEARL L. WEED (d/o GEORGE WEED and CORNELIA ISABELLE PALMER) on June 10, 1906 in Binghamton, NY. Joseph and Pearl had two children LEAH MARGARET BROWN (1906-1936) and EDWARD JAMES BROWN (1909-1935). I have never found any records for a Patrick Brown or Delia Driscoll in Olean, NY.

The 1910 Federal Census shows Joseph and Pearl living in Binghamton, NY. The 1920 and 1930 Federal Census shows them living in Elmira, NY where Joseph worked for Fell's Ice Co. They later moved to Watertown, Litchfield, CT. I am not sure how long they lived in Connecticut. I have found no records for Joseph P Brown prior to his marriage in 1906.

I found on http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nycattar/cemetery/allegany... a Joseph P Brown and a Pearl Leah Brown buried in the Allegany Cemetery in Allegany, NY. I am wondering if this is the Joseph and Pearl Brown I am looking for. According to the web page Joseph died in 1963 and Pearl Leah died in 1960. They are buried in section S7, lot 132. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out more information about these burials and the other Browns buried in this section? I wrote the Allegany Cemetery Association listed on the web site back in July 2009 but never received any answer. How would I go about finding out if there were obituaries for the Joseph or Pearl Brown that are buried in this cemetery?

Any help or suggestions for finding out more information about Joseph P Brown and his parents Patrick Brown and Delia Driscoll would be greatly appreciated.

Still trying to sort this out. Patrick Laughlin was my grandfather. I thought his first marriage was to Maggie Woods. Just found the 1900 Census listing Pat Loohlan in South Valley, born July 1861 in NY. Wife Margret Laughlin, born Sept 1860 in NY. Son Albert Laughlin, born March 1894 in NY. Also in household was father-in-law, John Grilben (Gribben), born May 1824 in Ireland.

I guess this makes Maggie Woods really Maggie Gribben!!!

Anybody agree?

I am trying to determine when and where his father Truman died, where he is buried, and any information about Truman's parents - who I beleive were Truman and Mary Stone. I am a descendant of James:

His son Isaiah Fuller - who married Catherine Smith had a daughter Jarusha Fuller (1797 - 1879, I have visited her grave), Jarusha married Henry J. Trevett (my mother and Aunt both have old Trevett bibles) Henry and Jarusha had Jarusha Trevett, who married John Buchanan. They had a daughter Alice Buchanan who married William Hartley, who had Kenneth T. Hartley - and he was my grandfather.

As for DNA, I am female and am not sure if I could talk my brother into the test, but I will certainly look into it.
Hi,

I can send you what I have on James Fuller's descendants, just email me your email address. my email is brennajt@yahoo.com. I am planning a trip out to the Amsterdam area later this month and am hoping to do some further research. I am debating about going to a few historical societies. What I don't get done this trip will hopefully get done in the spring, when I am planning to head back with my mother.

I don't know where too many Fuller graves are, but am hoping I may stumble across some when I head to NY. There are lots of cemeteries to explore.

Brenna

I need some help. I sent the Perrysburg town historian an email, but it was returned.I found Roswell & Dorcas Dart buried in the Rugg town cemetery. Who do I contact for further info on them? Also, Roswell is listed on the Roll of Honor for War of 1776. Where or is there any more info that I can get from a history book on the town?

I'm interested in learning and talking more with anyone who may have more information or decendants of said surnames with same lineage interests...or whom would care to share any info. I do not have anything of Charles Chadwick and would appreciate so. I have seen the Fairbanks book online and am so delighted.

Your post was written some time ago and I am new at this, but I can tell you I am a descendant of the same family.
Viola Clara Wank m Solomon Calvin Walburn, and they had 7 living children before Viola died of appendicitis and was pregnant at the time. She died Oct 10 or 13, 1930. The adopted daughter you mentioned was Donna Marie who was adopted by Walter Obenrader. Donna joined the Bendectine Order and is currently living in retirement in Erie PA. She goes by Dona or Donna Obenrader. I see it spelled both ways.
My mother was Verna May Walburn, b. 10 July 1922. She passed away Feb 27 2004 in Elmira New York. Her married name was Forrest.
The eldest of the siblings was Wilson McAdoo, b. about 1918. I remember being told when he died, but don't recall the year. Clemence Emmanuel was born about 1919 or 1920. He was the only relative I knew. His daughter April lives in W Seneca NY with her family. Another sister, Phylis (Marie?) died as a young adult. I think she was born either 1920 or 1921, because she was older than my mother. After my mother was Nellie Rose who married Charles Fitz(?)(Nitz?)..not sure of last name. She passed away many years ago as well. Donna and Donald brought up the rear and both were adopted by relatives. Donna is alive and living in Erie PA, and Donald was alive the last I knew but may have passed away this past year - I am trying to find out.
Except for my cousin April, I know of only one other cousin and I don't know the name. I have 4 siblings, 3 children and 3 grandchildren. I would be glad to supply you more info if you are still looking for this. Or connect with you to find out what you have discovered.
Calvin is buried in Salamanca NY, and he did indeed work on the Railroad, and died of a railroad accident - he slipped off a coal tender and died of a broken back on Dec 16 1954.
I hope this is still of interest to you.

My great-great-great grandparents are Dennis and Honora (O'Brien) Casey. They had a grocery store in Listowel, Ireland and lived in Duagh until about 1849. They moved to Hinsdale, NY. Dennis is thought to be from Killarney. Their daughters Mary and Ellen married two O'Hern brothers. Dennis Casey, Jr. (brother of Mary and Ellen) is my great-great grandfather. I would appreciate sharing information on these families.

Kim
