PJ" 9/11/2002: Cheryl M. Giambelluca, 54, of 22 Howard St., died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in WCA Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
A Jamestown-area resident most of her life, she was born June 2, 1948, in Cleveland, the daughter of Laverne and Joan McKinney Carlson.
She was a 1966 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Community College. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Prior to her illness, she was employed by Staff Builders Health Care Services as a health care aid and scheduling coordinator. In earlier years, she was a dental assistant for Dr David Chili, Dr. Bruce Martenson and Dr. Francis Palmer. She had also worked for several area medical offices in past years.
Her family and friends will remember her for her uplifting, joyful spirit, her beautiful smile and her carefree laugh. She was a very joyful person who had a great love for others, a great love for animals, music and one who had a deep spiritual life. She was a very loving and caring wife and mother and one who loved to live life to the fullest. She was especially close to her sister-in-law, Linda Calannio, who was like a sister to her.
Besides her parents of Bemus Point, she is survived by her husband, Stewart M. Giambelluca, whom she married Jan. 21, 1983; a daughter, Lisa Marie Giambelluca at home; and two sisters: Karin "Penny" Kote of West ellicott and Rebecca Nystrom of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gerald and Emma McKinney; her maternal great-grandparents, Archie and Anna Davis.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Charles D. May, pastor, will officiate, Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
