Rick - The dates tie in with the info I received from the National Archives regarding Heber's military service in the Revolutionary War:
Enlisted 2 Mar 1778
9 mos
12 th Mass Reg., Samuel Brewer, Col.

Return of Men in Capt John Chadwick's Co., 6th Mass Battalion commanded by Samuel Brewer
10 Sep 1778
And a rather ambiguous Discharge - can't tell if he was wounded, etc. No date
Casua(ts) Discharged
Sum due 14 dol 12 nine
Vol 170 page 9
But we still don't know if he was Loammi's father!
