Surnames: Cowden, Clark, Coe, Packer
With input from another Cowden cousin who's doing research, I've run across a notation that Loami Cowden was born in Cambridge, Washington Co., NY.
We've been looking for Heber as Loami's father, but it was only a guess, since Loami had a brother named Heber too.
Loami was born in the mid 1790s. When I pulled up the US Census for Washington Co., it showed James Simpson Cowden, a son of James Cowden of Mass. as the father of 2 young boys. Loami and Heber?
We need more information, but it's intriquing. Simpson Cowden as he was known, was granted land in Washington Co NY for his service in the Revolutionary War.
