Rynder Vander Kooi

Sherman – Rynder Vander Kooi, 89, died at the home of his son, Fred Vander Kooi near here, Wednesday at 12:10 A.M. He is survived by three other sons, Walter Vander Kooi of Ashville, Frank Vander Kooi of Oakfield, N.Y. and Ray Vander Kooi of Clymer; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Born in Holland, he came to this country 77 years ago, and had resided in Clymer all of his life, excepting for the past four years, which he spent with his son near Sherman. The remains are at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer where services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. with Rev. Leon Travis officiating. Internment will be in the Holland Cemetery, Clymer.

NOTE: Rynder Vanderkooi was the son of Tijs van der Kooi and Aleida Geerts Kooij. He was born in the Netherlands, possibly in Leens, Groningen on 11 Feb 1855. He had one half brother, Pieter Baat (Peter Bates) by his mother's first marriage to Klaas Baat.
