Hello Dee,
This is off topic on this thread & I apologize for it but I'd like to thank you for the information you posted for "Another Abner Putnam" Mystery person. I saw it was posted under DeeDavidson71 & I'm not sure that you're seeing any replies to those old postings. Anway, your posting about Abner & The DAR files put some perspective on what was a mystery to me. I previously ran across this listing for Abner Putnam Town of Charlotte but was never able to dig much deeper & thought I'd revisit it... I looked closer at the information you provided and there listed was Mrs. Lucy E. Putnam Harrison and Mr. Benjamin L. Harrison, daughter of Abner Putnam (1802-45) m. 1828 Alma Chandler (1809-56). Mrs. Lucy E. Putnam Harrison
My great great grandfather, Horace Putnam's obit is attached which lists Mrs. Benjamin L. Harrison as his cousin along with another gentleman. Your info on Abner Putnam of Charlotte apparently connects the Mrs. Harrison to Abner Putnam. This allows me to extend the tree a little further. You have to be one of the most prolific contributors to this site that I've seen. My gratitude goes out to you for supplying this information to the host of readers and requestors. I'm still trying to sort out what became of Horace Putnam's daughter, Adell or Adel Whitmarsh (listed in the Obit of Horace Putnam)(can't quite read the print), it said she's from Louisville, Kentucky but so far haven't turned anything up on any Whitmarsh's in Kentucky around that time. Turns out Horace, Adell's and George Putnam's natural father was married twice. I have a divorce filing for Horace Putnam from 1883 but no maiden name for his first wife Mary. again, I'm very gratefull for your assistance.
Sincerly,
Mark Putnam
