I am looking for any clues as to what happened to Richard Spicer. born 1831 England - He came to the USA in 1855 lived Portland, N.Y.and was alive when the 1900 census was taken, his age 69 and liveing alone.
1870 He had wife Nancy E. born abt 1839 with children Jesse R, John W. Ida May, plus Eliza J. Freeman, age 35, her dau. Elizabeth Freeman age 9 yrs. ( Eliza J. House Freeman,d/o David & Nabby Saunders House.)
1880- Richard Spicer age 49 and h/w Eliza Jane age 45 with children: John W. age 17, Ida M. age 12 and Richard and Eliza J. son- Mark Spicer age 5 yrs. Lizzie Freeman age 18 -stepdaughter) and Edwin House age 18 farm Labor.
The family is buried Westfield- Portland Union cemtery. but no dates on tombstone for Richard Spicer. no tombstone for his 1st wife Nancy E. - Can anyone tell me who she was- ? and when Did Richard Spicer pass away? no cemetery records are found. Who was Eliza Jane House 1st marriage to Mr. Freeman.?? Be greatfull for any help- Thank-You Virginia D. White- Smith.
