After years of research I believe Hopestill Shaw who md Benjamin Stevens (both my ancestors) was the d/o Daniel Shaw b 1705 in Stonington, CT to Daniel Shaw & Hopestill (Elliot). I believe he was the early Daniel Shaw in Dutchess Co. Tax Records that revert to Comfort Shaw who was likely his son and who md Elizabeth Carey d/o Nathan Carey as sited in his will.
Hopestill named her first son Daniel. Benjamin Stevens was the son of Roger Stevens of Dutchess Co. NY. Benjamin and Hopestill are buried in the Baptist Cem. in Pittsford, Rutland, VT.
