Received my husbands genealogy from another family member and I am now trying to verify the information. Is there anyone else researching JOHANNEY BUYS born 1688 in Curacao, Dutch West Indies and married NEELTJE CLAASZE on Aug 25 1710. Johanney was the son of JOHANNES BUYS AND JANNETIE VAN DEN HAM marriage May 30 1683, Dutch Reform Church. Some of the children of Johannes and Jannetie were born in New York City.
Supposedly this is the earliest information of my BOYCE family that migrates to Schenectady New York, then Hunterdon Co New Jersey and last to Marion Co WV.
I have verified so far the following lineage: my husband, King Boyce, s/o King Victor Boyce, s/o James William Boyce(1870,Taylor Co WV), s/o Amaziah Pattison Boyce (1844, Marion Co WV), s/o William Boyce & Catherine Rogers (1811) This William had 3 wives and 18 children, 6 children by each wife; William of 1811 was the son of SAMUEL BOICE who married MARY STINES (Green Co PA). Samuel Boice was the son of William Boice born 1748 Hunterdon Co NJ and supposedly married Elizabeth Snyder. I have recently seen information on ancestry.com that doesn't match what I have on this family.
So I am trying to find out if William Boice born 1748 NJ was indeed the son of JOHANNYS BUYS and MARTHA SMITH . My information has Johannys Buys born 1711 and dying 1777 in Hunterdon Co NJ. HIs father, Joahnnes Buys married Neeltje Claasze in New York.
Too many Buys, Boice, and Boyce.
