Hi, I am looking for information on my great grandmother Mable McLaughlin, originally Mable Darling. She was married to Edward McLaughlin(My great grandfather who was an un-adopted orphan from father bakers) and lived in buffalo NY. Their age difference was so far apart that, in what I've found they lied about their age, and it changes. She was 13 when they married. I found them in a 1925, and 1930 census but nothing before or after that. Mable was the composer of the melody to the song my funny valentine sometime in the 40's. The story is that she never had a piano lesson in her life nor knew how to read music. She taught herself by sound. While she was playing one day a doctor came by for a house call and he heard her playing that melody, he said he knew a man in the music industry and later she sold him the rights to the melody for $50 which I hear was A lot of money back then. I would appreciate any information on anything, thanks.
