I cannot seem to get past a brick wall on finding the birth date, place, or parents of this man. He is my GGG Grandfather. On Census he states he was born in NY, but dates range from 1810-1816. He married Laura Ann Gaffield in Lowell, MA on 07 Dec 1843, and had children in both Lowell and Lawrence, MA. Their last child born in Lawrence, MA was Lewis Cass Honey, born 15 Dec 1850. Apparently, on Lewis' birth record, Calvin States he was born in Jay, NY. This family sailed to California, btw. 1851-1853, settling in Tuolumne Coo., CA, and he died in Calaveras Co., CA., btw 1883-1887, his death not recorded, so no death certificate available.

There were several Honey families in New England in the late 1700's and 1800's, and more than one Calvin Honey, but I cannot seem to connect my Calvin Honey with the right parents. I do not know if my Calvin Honey was the son of the man by the same name who owned a sloop in Troy before owning a store in Yates County, NY that failed in 1830. I do not know if he had any siblings, or who is mother was.

If ANYONE can help me unravel this, I would be forever grateful. I know where my Calvin Honey is buried (Copperopolis, CA), but not where he started. ANY information would be very, very much appreciated. I live in California, so physically researching in NY is impossible for now. Thank You in Advance!
Susan
