I am coming to a dead end with this line.. so coming up with on final theory.. Keep finding the Hoag's from Utica.. and wonder maybe they are a lateral branch to your newcomb.. so the ancestor of those in Utica might be where to start over.. found this and hope it work..

Benjamin Hoag 1747-1785 might be the tree he is from.. just a hunch.. and a new place to start.. Maybe one of his sons was father of Aaron b. 1794.. have to figure out who they were.. one listed below is of the Utica branch.. who decends from Rueben son of Benjamin.. (just a though)
