John LAMBRECHT (1839, Jefferson Co., NY - 1913, WI)

I'm trying to determine the ancestry of the Joseph LAMBRECHT family.

Farmington, Washington Co., WI, 1850, LAMBRIGHT:
Joseph, 49, & Magdalen, 35, both b. Germany
Ch. b. NY: Catherine, 12; John, 11; Joseph, 9; Michael, 5
Ch. b. WI: Hannah, 3, & Jacob, 0.

Farmington, 1860
LEMBRECHT: Joseph, 19, & Michiel, 14, both b. NY.
B. WI: Hannah, Andrew, & Jacob, in the household of
Christopher, 40, & Mary, 44, BROBST.

The most specific reference to New York is that FindaGrave says that John LAMBRECHT was b. 14 Sep. 1839, Jefferson Co., NY.

The "1930 census" site shows in 1840, Jefferson Co., NY, Joseph LAMBIRK. There are many variant spellings. I believe they were Catholic. Does anyone know where Catholic records would be for births in the 1838 - 1845 time span? Are there any databases for people tho only spent about a decade in Jefferson County in that era?

My Great Aunt, Josephine LoTempio Lanni was murdered on 12/12/1928 in Watertown NY by Frank Ferrante Pronio. He was found guilty and was sentenced to die by electric chair in 1929.

I have found out some information about her six children, but I wanted to find out more and wanted confirmation on some of what I did find.

Her children are:

August 1917

Frank 1919

Adele 1923

Reynold 1921

Edward 1925

Joseph 1926

Edward was called Coco. Edward and Joseph were Frank's children. I do not know what happened to either of them after Josphine and Frank died.

I know that August and Reynold were taken in by George and Myrtya DeKing according to a 1930 census. At that time the DeKing's had a daughter, Barbara R DeKing.

I don’t know when, but the DeKing’s moved to Michigan, where George was from. George’s parents were Neal and Munir. His siblings were; Edward, Alfred, Emil and Cora.

I would like to know more information my Great Aunt's murder and about what happened to the Lanni children after their mother’s death.

I would welcome any help.

Thank you.

Cat
Hi Laura,

On my map, I see the Farrell Road, the Alney Road, but no BSR. Alney (as it is written on the map) and Farrel split off the No. 6 Road; then they both meet up with the Center Road. Perhaps it is even too small for the New York Gazetteer. Anyways, I have some relatives buried there ...and although there are transcriptions of markers (on Genweb, I think), I actually think one may be wrong. My relative is Elizabeth Peck (married name, 1805-1873). She was married to Alexander Peck , but the list has her as Elizabeth (Zeller) Peck. My belief is that she is Hollet, not Zeller. Time may have destroyed the writing.

I am actually just a person who loves maps, and I like to try to find the places my ancestors lived in. Thanks for responding, at least I have an idea. My other people are Northups (Daniel, maybe John, maybe Eldridge) and perhaps a John Hollet.

Jennifer Kiernan

Alpheus Nichols & his son Hiram Nichols (by 1st wife?)
This inquiry is posted in both St Lawrence County and Jefferson County
I am seeking reliable documentation (like birth record or death record)
that this Hiram was the son of this Alpheus Nichols

(for historical perspective) ...
A Knapp genealogy documents Alpheus' marriage to Florella Knapp and
lists children (not including Hiram)

We have a birth record for an Alpheus Nichols, December 11, 1780, in Framingham,
Middlesex,Mass to Lt. Joseph and Sarah Nichols
There are the following census entries ...
Alphear Nicholas Rodman, Jefferson, New York 1810
Alphus Nichols Rodman, Jefferson, New York 1820
Alpheus Nichols Rodman, Jefferson, New York 1840
Alpheus Nickolds Rodman, Jefferson, New York 1850 (born 1781 in Massachusetts)
(with Florella born 1789 Connecticut)
Alphus Nickols Rodman, Jefferson, NY 1860 born abt 1781 Massachusetts
(with Florella born abt 1787 in Connecticut)

We believe the boy in the birth record is the man in the censuses.

There is an on-line genealogy published 1905, which identifies an additional child (Hiram)
for an "Alphonse" (in all other respects identical) who is not among the children listed
in the Knapp genealogy. His birth is given as October 27, 1808 and death is given as
August 23, 1899 Gouverneur

This Hiram Nichols is found in the 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1880 censuses of Gouverneur, Saint Lawrence, NY
(with an "Abra" also listed 1850,60,70)

What we have found so far ...
An _unsourced_ record in LDS (www.familysearch.org) that an Alpheus Nichols had
wife Rebecca Kinney and that this couple had a son Hiram born born 27 OCT 1808
Rodman, Jefferson, New York who married "Alva" Gardener in Rochester in 1834

Grateful for any and all help.

Herb Nichols

HI

My name is Myrna Misch and I am researching Risley, McClure, names. I have been trying to locate any marriage, death, birth or burial records that I may find. Edwin Risley married Anna McClure Abt. 1825 in Clayton, Jefferson County, New York. Anna was born in Clayton, New York and Edwin was born in Hartford, Connecticut. Anna died 1839 in Clayton, New York and in 1844 Edwin took his 6 children and moved to Detroit, Michigan. I would like to learn as much as I can about these two families. I would appreciate any information you may have.

Thank you Myrna Misch 5304 Chestnut Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004- 7030

mmisch@windstream.net or mischm@ hotmail.com

He was born in the 1850's. When he came of age he moved out to Ohio. Possibly to be near an uncle Sidney Sherman. He died in the 1880's and was buried in Brockville Ont.

The family lived on in both Ny state and ont.. I am looking for his grandparents. His paretns were Allan (or William Allan) and CHloe (nee Sherman) Bowers.

Hope this helps,
Craig Bowers

I'm looking for info on Myrtle Clintsman. She was my dad's mom. The story is, he received a telegram while in the war (WWII) that she had died. It wasn't until his father (Stanley Foster Clintsman) died in 1989, that Clark found out his mother was still alive. If you have any information to share about her side of the family, I would greatly appreciate it. My dad really didn't talk too much about his family. The last time I had seen my grandfather, Foster, was in '84-'85.

Thanks!
Stephanie L.
