Found something of interest in the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors site:

D.Lansing LAMBERT served in the 13th Reg. New York State Militia (3 mos. 1861).

He had the rank of Artificer.

CWSS says about the 13th NYS Militia :

"Organized at Brooklyn, NY. Moved to Annapolis,Md Apr.21, 1861. Mustered into U.S. service for 3 months, Apr.23rd. Guard railroad at Annapolis,Md 'till June, and duty at Baltimore,Md 'til August. Affair at Smith's Point, Md. May 18th. Mustered out August 6, 1861."

My great-greatgrandfather, John Lewis served in the 133rd NY Vol. Infantry. He died at Port Hudson,La. August,1863 of malaria. My greatgrandmother was his eldest child - 5yo at time of his death.
