Hi
My grandmother (Born 1899) and her parents lived here, after immigrating from Germany in 1861. In 1916, my great grandmother's naturalization papers state that her husband left her because he could no longer support her. Family oral history knows only that he left and was never heard from again. In 1940, my great grandmother shows up in the Pilgrim State (Crooked Rd) facility. She indicates in the census after 1930 that she is widowed. Does anyone have any suggestions to follow to find her husband? Is there a way to find out how she was admitted to the Pilgrim facility, or what happened to her when she died (we have no information at all)> The Pilgrim State connection was only discovered this week. Thanks for any help.
