It's me again. I know there are tons of Johnsons in Brooklyn, but I have a bit more on Edward B. Johnson that might help. He's listed in Maryland up to 1898 and moved sometime after that.
Would you please check the 1899 - 1902 Brooklyn directories
to see when he arrived in New York. I think the middle initial "B" will narrow the search. It is used in the Baltimore directories.
He was a machinist and then a train dispatcher for the railroad.
