Seeking death record from 1867 in Dansville

I am researching a person who died while taking the Water Cure in Dansville in 1867. I looked at the county genweb site and explored the NY Vital Records info. But I am still not sure if there is any resource for a death record in 1867. Can someone advise if the county or city clerk would have this type of record available? Thanks.
