I am interested in this Simeon SMITH. Jabez HOLMES of Poolville, Town of Hamilton, Madison County married (as his second wife) Harriet SMITH, who according to the land records inherited land in Hamilton from one Simeon SMITH; the latter is not identified but it seems reasonable to guess he was Harriet's father. How is James SHORES related? Jabez HOLMES sold some land to someone of that name -- the same land Harriet had inherited, I think, but I'm not near my records at the moment to check.
