I happened upon this original message below while researching (Hiram) Jeremiah and Elizabeth Catherine Palmateer Filkins. They would have been my Great-Great Grandparents. I have found that they lived in Northville, NY. They were married in Hagaman in 1856, and had 6 children...Abram, William, Jeremiah "Jerry" (my great-grandfather) Kimmey, Elizabeth and Addie. They were still in the 1880 census in Northville.
I found that she died in 1885 at age 50. But I can find nothing else about her, where she is buried, what happened to her? In 1888, I found a copy of a Northville directory showing both Jeremiah Sr, Jeremiah Jr and William working in Northville. The following message talking about the woman in her 50's seems like there might be a connection. Can anyone offer any more information? This is in response to a message back in October 2003 as follows:

If this is the same Kimmey from Amsterdam... I may be of some help. The Kimmie I know of was married to an Alexander Filkins. According to the federal census, they had a daughter Kimmie (or Elizabeth in the State census). If Kimmie is Kimmie's daughter, the mother would have been in her 50s when the daughter was born. I did find an Elizabeth Palmateer who married Hiram Filkins then disappeared... this would fill the gap with a possible adoption by the grandmother and the confusion of Elizabeth for Kimmie. Is this familiar to you? I can exlpain my finding further if it is.
