Hi Suzanne,

I believe the cause of death for your guy was consumption.

I just sent an e-mail to you with the scans. Hopefully, they are clear enough.

The 1855 NY State census also has a schedule for deaths which occurred within the census year. Unfortunately, they did not include names. What a lost opportunity! Not sure if FamilySearch digitized those. I have three rolls of film for the 1855 NYS census covering a few wards in Manhattan on indefinite loan at my local FHC. Nice to have the rest of them digitized and online now!

Maybe an obit/death notice will help you tie them together. Calvary is good also -- just expensive.

Good luck!

Margaret
