perhaps earlier.

JOHN MATTHEWS or MATHEWS of Skaneateles, NY, born c 1840-1860s perhaps in the
Uphill/Weston Super Mare area of Somerset, England, perhaps the son of JAMES
MATTHEWS who was born 17 Mar 1810 at East Horrington, Wells, Somerset,
England, son of HENRY MATTHEWS and RUTH FISH.

ELIZABETH VENN (nee MATTHEWS) of Skaneateles, NY, born c 1840-1860s perhaps in
the Uphill/Weston Super Mare area of Somerset, England, perhaps the daughter
of the above JAMES MATTHEWS.

JOHN MATTHEWS and ELIZABETH VENN were residing in Skaneateles in the 1890s and
perhaps earlier. All three are believed to be nephews and niece to EDWARD
MATTHEWS or MATTHEWS, a farmer of Skaneateles, Onondago Co., NY who passed
away in the 1890s. He was the son of HENRY MATTHEWS and RUTH FISH of East
Horrington, Somerset, England, baptized 4 May 1817 in St Cuthbert parish
church, Wells, Somerset.
