Pat - I know it has been 4 years since you posted this information and I really do appreciate it. I don't know what happened that I didn't get back to you right away. I am sorry for my oversight. I think it was about that time I met some Avery cousins and became engrossed in Avery research. But that has stalled probably terminally and I am back to the Irish ancestors. I work weekends in Gettysburg, but in the summer I will be working full time so I have a couple months before that starts.

You posted that the Byrne family came over in 1866 from Ireland. Years ago I was at NARA in Boston and found that they originally came to Boston in 1845. James Byrne and wife Catherine. James was b. 1817 and then my grandfather also James was b. 1842. So the 1866 crossing must have been a second trip.Catherine's maiden name was Broderick according to my cousin.

James (my grandfather) was married to Margaret Ford. She died 1882 possibly from complications of the birth of her daughter Annie born the previous year. Annie died in 1886. THese people were buried in the old St Joseph's Cemetery in Syracuse. That closed in the 1950's and the bodies moved to a mass grass in Assumption Cemetery. The old St. Joseph's cemetery is now a defunct Wegman's Supermarket.
