a strike.—Died: Chauncey Atkins, 73; Hiram Crooks;
William Coon.—Average rainfall for the month of
August exceeded 10 inches.—Married: Miss Sarah M. Wright and William
F. Sharp; Miss Frankie Marsh and Frederick Conet.—Special delivery
stamps were received at the Nunda post office.—Charles Mathews was preparing
to erect new store; building at Oakland.—Fitch Crane was badly
injured while working on an oil derrick at Wellsville
